Teamwork makes the Dream work!

Posted by Unknown at Wednesday, June 25, 2014 0 comments
Hello everyone :)

Happy Wednesday, it's another beautiful day here in Minnesota!

This past week D.O.G.S. has been specifically working on grant researching, recruiting fosters, volunteers, board members, fundraising efforts and sharing our mission and vision to the animal community.  We hope to be a 'go to' source for when rescues and animal organizations need a helping hand.  We also want to be able to address the needs of the animal community and we are working extra hard on getting this accomplished.  Every little step counts, every effort is towards the bigger picture of helping out as much as we can.  Both challenging quests to conquer, but we will get there.

Our D.O.G.S. crew was able to get together this past weekend and work on two much needed agenda items that have been postponed due to busy schedules, lives, and whatnot.  Inventory and candy machine clean up and assembly.

Our sweet baby boy, Leche (one of D.O.G.S.'s inspirations) helping us out with inventory after the clean up.  Guarding some of the supplies for his fellow animal friends.

Our D.O.G.S.'s crew working diligently on cleaning out candy machines for our "Sweets for Sweeties" program-Candy machine fundraising efforts.  Contact us today if you would like to DONATE some real estate space for us to place a D.O.G.S.'s candy machine.
100% of proceeds go to assisting ANIMALS in need.

It takes MUCH manpower and dedicated individual's time to make things come to life, to put ideas into action.  And here at D.O.G.S. we do what we can, when we can, and however we can to make our MISSION and VISION possible.  During the journey of course we experience bumps and smooth roads, just like any other start up or established organization for that matter.  We agree, we disagree, and we agree to disagree.  As long as we remember TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK  we can do ANYTHING.  Anything is possible with a team, especially a team like D.O.G.S.  We are very fortunate and grateful for them!  So gather up your team and GO!  Or come join ours!
Goofing around!

Mission possible!

If I Was A Billionaire?

Posted by Unknown at Wednesday, June 18, 2014 0 comments
Hello everyone :)

I missed you all last week.  I was on vacation!  Yes vacation in sunny Cali, it was great I had the opportunity to work on D.O.G.S. in the sun, but now I'm back in the D.O.G.S.'s office where I can focus more!:D

This week's thoughts revolves around wanting to be able to do more with limited resources-non profit world 101.

While I was in beautiful California I got the chance to see beautiful scenery, luxurious houses, and so many animals.   This combination got me thinking, randomly so "what if I was a millionaire?  A billionaire?  What would I do with that money?"  Easy peezy!  I would rescue all the animals in the world, help all the rescues, pay the volunteers well, build a state of the art home for those FURBABIES waiting for FUREVER homes, have a supply center warehouse, spread the word with education, awareness and advocacy work!  It would make this journey SO much easier if I was a billionaire right?  Yes and no.  It was a nice fantasy thought...however dreams can become reality; as I stand here today, dreams have become my reality.  Hey it could happen.

It's nice to fantasize what would you do if scenarios, because it helps you think about what you would want to do, could do and will do to get to what it is you want to do.  It's a healthy mindful exercise that we 'dreamers' have to do from time to time and anyone else for that matter.  Get our goals into focus-what is that saying...visualize, verbalize, realize.  Love it!

There are so many wonderful organizations out there doing amazing work helping animals in need.  However, with little to no resources can put a major damper on things.  With passion, compassion, and the motivation to trek on is all it takes to keep that spark alive.  This is a HUGE motivator for me as well, I look up to them.

D.O.G.S. is here to help and we strive to continue to grow and help more.  I don't need to be a billionaire, though it would be nice, but all you need is heart and the rest will follow.  Believe it!

What's Your Motivation?

Posted by Unknown at Wednesday, June 04, 2014 0 comments
Hello everyone! :)

Sorry we missed you last week!

I wanted to try and stay true to my blogging mission about the process of building a non profit; (Hope. Learn. Connect. Inspire.) and blog about Dogs Of A Good Society's process today.  This blog today is about the organization as a whole and not intended for anything else.  I often find myself asking, what's my motivation?  What is my motivation in running D.O.G.S.; well to help animals of course!  That is what immediately pops in my mind, however it gets me thinking I can help animals by volunteering, donating, or anything else; what is my motivation to help animals by changing the course of my career, my life, lifestyle and so forth to start D.O.G.S.? Quite simply put-it's my mission, my calling, my heart and passion.....It's Leche and Jasmine....I want to do more....  It's my whole life or as close to it as possible.  Then I ask myself what's the motivation for the organization to run?  It's the makeup of a great board, amazing volunteers, motivated by passion and compassion (it could be you), generous donors, funds, ideas, missions, visions....

People ask me how do I measure success?  That's easy answer for me, success for D.O.G.S. for me is that I pursued the dream to my heart's content and TRIED.  TRYING IS my measurement for success.

On the other hand, one of the greatest fears for me of running D.O.G.S. is failure.  How do I measure failure?  I can't expect success without failing and to try again.  "If it was that easy everyone would be doing it and wouldn't get burnt out in a few years"  This is words of wisdom from my husband when we were just chatting about life, pursing dreams, starting your own business.  It's true, if it were that easy-if only.  Admittedly, there are some days where I don't feel AS motivated as other days.  D.O.G.S. may get lost in the mix of a busy life, a FT job, exhaustion, life and family, but it's ALWAYS with me.  I don't ever want to lose sight of why I came to this point and what my motivators are.  What I worked so hard for-to witness a dream come true.

Another question is when you are running an organization, you have to lead; how do you lead?  You lead with motivation.  To be a good leader you must motivate and inspire, a wise person once told me.  Everyone has different driving factors on joining in your cause and together your "drivers" hopefully will come together, if you are fortunate enough.  And of course if you are able to master and work on your leadership skills.  Something I am most definitely working on and learning from every day from D.O.G.S.  It's the unexpected greatness that comes from starting your own non profit business, you LEARN so much, it's fantastic!  Whoever said anything worth doing would be easy right?  If you are dreaming of, thinking of starting, have started, in the middle of, or wherever you are in your own path keep in mind; it's tough, it will get tougher, but it's worth it.  Stay TRUE, stay MINDFUL, have faith and most of all don't lose sight of WHAT'S YOUR MOTIVATION.

Remember.......

Until next time,
